Producing fish all year through Breivikbotn Fiskeindustri is a part of the Nergaard-consern and has today 32 employes. All year through there's activity on the dock here in Breivikbotn. It get's most hectic through the winterseason, but we produce prima fishproducts all year. Our products are very popular throughout the world. We sell big kvantums saltfish to Portugal, Spain and Cananda, and we send alot of our biproducts to the East, mostly Japan and Korea, but also to Nigeria in Africa.
Quality ensurance We have a central alignment to the big catching areas outside Finnmark, and we can give very good prices for the fish we buy directly from the fishermen thereselves, something that leads to us always getting the best fish first. All year we make fishproducts of prima quality. No mather what product you would like, you shall be sure that if the product are made by us, it is of abolutely highest quality. Wintertime we mostly produce Cod and Codproducts, while in the summertime the Seite rules.
Saltfish Saltfish is one of the most important products within Norwegian Fishingindustri, anually we export 30 million kilos saltfish. Saltfish is made out of Cod. The second the fish reaches shore, the jurney towards becoming saltfish begins. First the head is chopped of , then the fish opens and are cleaned, to last being salted. Saltfish has becomed very popular worldwide the last few yaers, when the culture of Bacalao reached the rest of the world. In Portugal Bacalao has been eatend for many decades. Here Bacalao is the nasionalcurse, and it is to be said that a traditional Portugees housewife knows 365 differents ways to cook Bacalao, one for each day of the year.
Winterseason Throughout the winterseason there's a high workingtempo here at the docks. Soroya and the areas around Soroya, is said to be one of the greatest areas for fishing in the world, something that showes it's best side in the winterseason. The fish are pooring in and there's alot that needs to be done. Another name for the winterseason is "Codseason". No wonder Cod and Saltfish stands in such a great focus through these wintermonths. We are focused on always having a great product, something we lay alot of work in.
